November Sporting Clays in the Snow

Thank you to everyone who attended our Nov 17th Sporting Clay event.

The targets were very visible with the white snowy background; and the shooting conditions were excellent with the bright warm sun and minimal breeze.


We hope to see you all back for our Boxing Day Shoot on December 26th. We will post more details about the event as the date gets closer.

There will be Trap shooting, Buddy shoots, Annie Oakley shoots, a Warm Lunch, and Sporting Clays !!!
















Drum Roll Please… And the 2019 Club Trap Champion is…

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2019 Club Trap Championship.

There is no better way to spend a beautiful autumn day then laughing and telling stories with friends around the trap field.

The beautiful weather and minimal wind led to some very high scores.

We want to say congratulations to all the winners.


High Overall Club Champion :  Rick Marlatt (with a very impressive 96/100)

High 16 Yard Champion : Bob Morphy

High Handicap Champion : Charlie Cadman

Sporting Clay – Cooler mornings means fall is upon us

Thank you to everyone who came out for our October 6th Sporting Clay Event.

There were a few brief rain showers but that didn’t seem to stop people from coming out and enjoying the outdoors.


We wanted to say congratulations to the CWTF Sporting Clay Giveaway Winners.

Cory, Stan, Greg, Ken, and Derek won a round of Sporting Clays at the CWTF Tri-County Mossy Heads banquet.

It was very nice to meet all of you and we hope to see you back!


Please check out the CWTF Tri-County Mossy Heads, they are a not-for-profit organization that promote conservation, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor and wildlife oriented activities.


Sporting Clays is an excellent way to stay sharp as we enter into the Fall Hunting Seasons.

Club Treasurer Position

We are looking to fill the position of Club Treasurer for the 2019/2020 fiscal year.  The Club Treasurer is a volunteer position who works closely with the Club President, Club Secretary, and other Directors to manage the book keeping of the club.

An eligible candidate must be willing to attend monthly club meetings.  They should have some knowledge of accounting tasks and be  detail oriented.  They must also be a member in good standing of Otter Valley Rod & Gun Club.

Sporting Clays – Spending time in the Outdoors

This past Sunday Otter Valley Rod & Gun Club held a Sporting Clay event and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. The blue skies, light cloud cover, and minimal wind made for perfect conditions to enjoy our ten station Sporting Clay Course.

We hope that everyone who came out enjoyed the course and the time spent in the outdoors with family and friends.

Our next Sporting Clay event is October 6th. We hope to see you there !











Summer Interclub Final Shoot and Interclub Results

Wednesday, August 28 2019 was our final Summer Interclub.  It was hosted by the Oxford Sportsman Club.  The wind was blowing, and the targets were dancing in the wind, but that didn’t seem to bother some shooters.  Bill Chilton won high gun with a 47.

The Oxford Sportsman Club won the final shoot with a score of 236 to Otter Valley’s 229.  After the event was done we all enjoyed a wonderful BBQ and corn roast.  A big thank you to the volunteers who helped for prepare the meal.  It was delicious.

As we were enjoying the meal our team of analysis’s went to work calculating the final overall winners for the 2019 Summer Interclub Event.  The data was analyzed and then it was announced…..

Otter Valley Rod & Gun Club had won the 2019 Summer Interclub!!!

Way to go Team!!!!!!!


We want to thank both clubs and all the volunteers for hosting and running these events.

Archery season is fast approaching – 3D Archery Targets

With archery season just around the corner we have placed a few 3D archery targets out for members to practice with.

They are located west of the club house.  So sign in.  Then drive to the club house and park.  The targets are located to your right if you are facing the club house.  Just follow the hydro lines.

These targets are for archery equipment only.  Field / target tips only.  No broad heads.

Sporting Clays – Blue Sky’s and Broken Clays

Sporting Clays is an excellent way to get ready for the up coming Fall Hunting Seasons.

Inter Club Results

Wednesday August 7 had us shooting in a heat wave at Otter Valley . There were 29 shooters in attendance and some excellent scores were shot . Germain Spriet was high for the day with a 48 , nicely done “G Man ” . Otter Valley was victorious over the visiting Verschoyle shooters with a score of 230 vs 223 . We have one more shoot at Verschoyle on the 28th of August to wrap up Summer Inter Club 2019 .

We got some pictures of our camera man for a change , thanks Tim for all the photos , and good shooting !
